Ambassador opens Darwin exhibition (13/10/2009)
British Ambassador to Serbia Stephen Wordsworth opened in the Progres Gallery on Oct. 12 an exhibition marking 200 years since the birth of Charles Darwin and 150 years since the publication of the book "On the Origin of Species."
The British Council's international program, entitled "Darwin Now,"presents an exposition on the life and work of the English naturalist, primarily known for his theory of evolution.
Visitors will be able to see how various discoveries, from geology to economics, influenced Darwin's thinking.
The exposition explores the importance of the theory of evolution on the modern world and science and also presents the work of British authors who have expanded the limits of evolutionary biology.
The exhibition will be held until Oct. 17.
